In my 20s and earliy 30s, I only liked to wear stilettos, wedges, and platform shoes. I love being tall and how heels make my legs look. The only time I wore sneakers was for gym or hiking. Fast forwarding 6 years, now as a mom of two boys, the only time I put on heels is for date nights and special occasions. Comfort is the number 1 key when I shop for shoes, but won’t sacrifice style either. I love mules, slide sandals and slip ons for spring and summer, and of course the perfect pair of white sneakers.
I fell in love with the Bloom Leather Sneakers and Hint Metallic Stretch Knit slip ons from Cougar shoes, a Canadian Shoe maker that’s been around for over 70 years. Bloom is made with tumbled Napoli leather and removable memory form insole. I love the White-blossom ones because they have the most beautiful cherry blossom design on the back and the inside lining. Bloom only come in full sizes, if you are in between sizes, I recommend size down. I’m normally a size 6.5-7 in shoes and wearing size 6 in Bloom. price: $90.
Hint were made from breathable stretch knit material, and I love the fact that I can wear the bare foot because of the breathable leather covered insole. They are super lightweight, a size 6 Hint weighs 180g (6.3oz), That’s 8g less than an iPhone 7! I sized up half a size on Hint because they are a little bit narrow, wearing size 7 in Hint. Prize $60.
Both Bloom and Hint are water repellent and stain resistant, a big win win for boy mom life! They are both super comfortable and stylish, and I have worn both shoes with different outfits, dresses, shorts, cutoffs, and jeans. They are the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe.
